Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed

"Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spirtual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude." - Denis Waitley

When you sit back and consider your life up to now, do you contemplate whether you enjoyed every second? We are so caught up in our daily lives and work, we forget to live. We forget that everything around us is the work of society, and we should take time out to make sure we enjoy every second.

I don't want to depress you with the following statement, but the average human being only get 75 summers to live - short is it not! now for the question; How many summers have you had in your life?

I had 39 summers already, and I live for every day. Not every moment is lived in joy, but I sure try and make the most of each one. I travel, read, write, there has not been a dangerous sport that I have not tried, Hiked in the mountains, cave climbing, etc. I can go on and on.

The point of all of this is to live, no matter what your means are, no matter how hard it gets, there is always a silver lining to every situation, and if you can't find one, just remember the quote in the beginning of the blog.

Novel writing

When I started writing a novel, using Word, I found that I could not stop reading, re-reading and editing the chapter I wrote. Word allowed me to reflect back and see my edited work. I just did not make any progress, and what progress I did make, I would continually edit and adjust to fit the evolving story line.

I very quickly realized my Novel was in danger of becoming a write-off instead of a work of fiction. What I need is an editor that would allow me to write scenes, but only view the scene I am working on. I need something dedicated to the way I think.

I found a variety of authoring tools on the internet, some were very impressive, whilst others not so much. Those that I did find useful were packed with so many features that I found it distracting, which led me down the path of writing it myself. That’s the Perks of being in IT – develop something if you can’t find the software.

This was the birth of my Novel writing software: Novel Studio 2010. It took a while but I finally completed it, and then completed my novel using it... a double scoop of satisfaction.

I’m making this software available for free – please if you can comment on the software. I would like to improve and extent it, to create something useful for all writers in the community. Why don't you try it for free?  http://www.ronniebarnard.com

On blogger finally

It took a while, but I am now slowly making headway into all these tools. Twitter, facebook, blogger, my own site, and whatever else comes down the line... :)
